F*ck It.

I'm pissed that some guy in the Chick-Fil-A parking lot was an ass to me over nothing.

I'm pissed that there are people out there who whine and moan about DEATH PANELS! DEATH PANELS! THE GOVERNMENT IS GOING TO KILL OLD PEOPLE!, who would gladly put their 18-year-old senile cat out of its misery, but when they're confronted with my husband's step-grandfather who had no mind left in his head and who slowly starved/dehydrated to death in a hospice, that's just fine and justified and a dignified way to die. Wow. Dignified. Yeah. The last time I checked my facts, starvation and dehydration are actually painful, no matter the state of your prefrontal cortex, and in no way dignified. I call that torture. God forbid we, as a human race, make his or anyone else's passing less, ahem, painful with a few extra cc's of opiates. But, by all means, give the magic injection to Sparky the family Labrador who can no longer walk and isn't sentient.

I'm pissed that I can't get 9974-AKE out of my head over a year later.

I'm pissed that some people put their own dreams and desires ahead of those of their family and children.

I'm pissed that I get ahead in one area of my life and another area goes to the wayside.

I'm pissed that a couple of people bad-mouthed my peeps to some well-known TV personalities and said personalities were, let's say, less-than-friendly to said peeps at the local sci-fi convention over the past weekend. What is this, high school? Wow, because I actually thought this was a trying-to-be-serious field of research, not the cafeteria.

I'm pissed that a family member whom I adore and cherish has had her heart broken and I can't do a damned thing about it.

I'm pissed that some people read blogs and can't abide by the mantra If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. They would rather spew hatred and nastiness on someone's heartfelt words instead of taking care of their own house.

I'm pissed that it's that time of the month.

I'm pissed that I obsess about every. little. thing, all the time, and that the tiniest of issues will get me down. Constantly. And that I can't just say Fuck it.

I'm sorry you are having bad time. Look on the bright side, your period could be 12 days late(yes it is-I'm hoping it's just stress).

When I read the "time of the month" line, I said to myself, "Ooooooooohhhhhhhhhh, now I get it." That should have been your opener.

I'm totally with you on this debacle that we call healthcare. Let's spend millions to keep someone alive that has no quality of life. What? You're on medicare? GTFO and don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you!

Molly's Mom said...

I have those days/weeks/months too...

I'm sort of put out that the TV personalities were sort of pissy to your peeps; I would've thought better of those people : (

I need to read up more on the whole healthcare thing - haven't really looked into it much with the craziness of work starting, etc. But I have heard of the DEATH PANELS. Oooooooo.

I'm pissed about that blog thing too. I swear people need to learn how to keep their mouths shut sometimes.

Sorry to hear about the doucheknockers and the DragonCon drama stuff.

I obsess over every little thing, too, so I feel your pain and shall join with you in shouting a huge Fuck it! from the rooftops.

Hang in there, H. Hopefully in a few days, the world will be a little rosier.

This must be blogging menstrual week, 'cause I've got it, too.
I want to kick that guy from the parking lots ass, as well as the douche from the movie parking lot incident. That guy would get his ASS kicked if I'd seen him do that to you! GRRRRRRRRRR!
People disgust me sometimes. Okay, a lot of times. But it makes me feel better when I read that there are smart, awesome people like you also enraged. Makes me feel better.
Let's start a Superhero group.

Yeah, I really don't like that there isn't some kind of legal medical euthanasia as well. It's sad we treat our pets better.

Other Heather - Oh. My. God. Twelve days?!? I'm hoping it's just stress, too. Go get a test, just to be sure!

Joe - Yeah, I know. Would have solved some of the mystery. :) Some women get cramps? I get a huge case of pessimism.

Molly's Mom - I would have thought better of them, as well. But, from what I understand, Jason Hawes is so over filming Ghost Hunters that he has an attitude about it and he just doesn't give a crap about fans/fellow investigators. And that's just sad.

Hilly - Thanks, hon. It just slays me that there would be drama at a sci-fi convention. WTF?

Tuli - I hope so!

Britt - I know. I dislike it when the pursuit of said dreams literally takes you physically away from your family for months or years at a time. That is just wrong. Let the kids grow up and then dig in the desert for artifacts. You know? Sorry I have to be cryptic.

Sybil Law - Oh, I'm full of rage, darlin'! :) And I'll totally be a superhero as long as my cape is purple.

Organic Meatbag - True, but I just like the way my finger looks all pixelated. It's rockin'!

Lynda - Total agreement.

I'd say "F*ck It" works.

Ahhh... doesn't it feel better now that you've said "F*ck it"???
Mean people, whether they're blog commenters or TV personalities, SUCK.
PMS sucks.
As for death panels... look, if Uncle Billy has decided that he doesn't want to face the hell of alzheimer's, then who are we to decide that he needs to? Does he have to suffer by putting a living will in place that will prevent feeding and hydrating him? I think in terminal cases, if the patient is of a sound mind to make the decision... then it should be theirs to make.
Yet... I have a disabled child, one who DOES live dependent on feeding tubes and machines. So many out there would say that HE has no quality of life - but look into his eyes? And he'll tell you different. So I'm leery of giving ANYONE the power to make that decision... because who decides what's quality and what isn't?

Okay... I'm not PMSing, but I'm apparently extremely emotional. Sorry bout that :)

Coal Miner's Granddaughter said...

Fantastagirl - It does. When I use it.

Kelly - I know what you mean about the "death panels" and euthanasia. I mean, I don't want it to be a doorway for anyone who's depressed to have a doctor off them with an injection. That's wrong. And your son's condition shouldn't be ended just because he's being assisted to eat and drink. But a terminal cancer patient? HIV/AIDS patient? Alzheimer's? I'm sorry, but none of those people should suffer the last days/weeks/months of their lives. I think it's inhumane.

I'm pissed at a lot of things right now as well, but it's largely because I haven't had a decent night's sleep in a week.

Hang in there.

Not Afraid to Use It said...

I'll join the Fuck It Club.

Coal Miner's Granddaughter said...

A Free Man - Yeah. That whole lack of sleep thing will screw you up in the head. Watch some Australian infomercials. If there is such a thing.

NATUI - You're in. In fact, you're VP. :)

First, I love this idea for a post. It seems so therapeutic.

Second, I couldn't agree more about the death panels.

And I totally agree about trolls.

Unknown said...

I take it you're pissed.

Um, yeah, so now my unofficial scientific research has proven that blog friends start to follow the same cycle.

Eat some chocolate. Wash some midol down with some wine tonight and you'll wake up less angry. Worked for me at least.

HEATHER said...

It's not stress!

Coal Miner's Granddaughter said...

Sandy - It was a therapeutic post. I felt much better once I got it all out of my system.

LceeL - Just a bit.

Muskrat - I didn't make it, actually. We spent the weekend with dear friends we hadn't seen in two years. I'm glad I missed it, though. There was a lot of drama.

MommyCosm - HA! Who'd have thought? Live in an apartment together? Same cycle! Blog together? Same cycle. We could probably get a grant to study this...

Other Heather - WHAT!?!?!? It's not stress? Does this mean what I think it means? E-mail me, woman!

Kris was mean to someone? She seems so awesome. And hot. And I love her. And you, of course.

Know what doesn't piss me off? That you posted this. I kind of enjoy your vents.
