Tempur-Pedic Has Ruined My Life

My little brood spent four nights in the north Georgia mountains at the home of my in-laws. While there, we had a wonderful family Christmas, ate ourselves silly, and watched our kids light up at the sight of cookie crumbs left by Santa when he delivered their new toys.

And the Ty-man and I? Didn't sleep.

When I found out I was pregnant with the twins four years ago, our friend Chip (a dedicated Tempur-Pedic sleeper) declared, "Ty! You've gotta get a Tempur-Pedic!"

When I was placed on bed rest? Chip determined that the only way to spend a month in bed was on That Fabulous Foam Mattress.

And after the twins were born? That's all we heard from Chip, constantly, every other sentence, "So, when are you getting our girl a piece of Swedish Foam Heaven?"

Within a few months of the twins' birth, the Ty-man finally succumbed to pressure and we became the proud owners of our very own queen-sized Tempur-Pedic mattress. And we were immediately ruined.

I can't go on vacation or visit with family without lying on the hotel bed, or on the bed in my MIL's guest bedroom, or on the bed in any bedroom while thinking, "Yep, there's definitely a spring in my kidney. I'll try lying on my back. Whoops, now there's one in my buttcrack and the backs of my knees. Screw it, I'll sleep on my stomach. Nope. Now my uterus is pissed." And there I was, the entire Christmas holiday, every morning until 4AM, counting the springs in the mattress. Until I would finally give up and surf the Tempur-Pedic site making pitiful sighing noises and stroking the computer screen.

When I'm Empress of the Universe, I shall buy Tempur-Pedics for every home, every hotel.

Because I'm just that friggin' selfish.

OOH, I'm jealous! I'm dying for a decent mattress, a tempur-pedic, if you will. Please become Empress of Universe and buy me one soon! In the meantime, I hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year! Thanks for your blog!

For a list of hotels that use the Tempur-pedic. Plan your trips around where you can find a hotel. HA!

I have one too and sleeping elsewhere sucks...except in Aruba. We had our mattresses made for cheap at a foam factory there. Whoda thunk they would have a foam factory?! Spoiled much?! Hell YES!

I haven't tried sleeping on a Tempur-pedic, but I have a TP pillow and love it. If I don't bring it with me, I can't sleep either.

Glad to be home?? Sleep well!

Peace - D

I love me TP pillow and I want a mattress to go with it. I'd hate to give up vacations though. I love my sleep!

Toasty - I will so buy you a Tempur-Pedic. When I'm elected Empress. Or when I win the lottery. Or when I knock over a mattress store. :)

Other Heather - Duuuuude. They have a list of hotels? With their beds? I love you! Thanks for the link!

MommyCosm - Aruba has a foam factory?!? Methinks I must have some of that shipped to Bonaire...

RiverPoet - We've got the Tempur-Pedic pillows, too. I did take mine with me, but it still wasn't enough. Seems I need whole body comfort.

MetalMom - I know sweetie. I know.

Oh man, I want one of those soooo bad...I'm ashamed to admit what I'd be willing to do to get one! hehehe

We looked at those--I just get too claustrophobic and hot.

We bought a WONDERFUL pillowtop mattress--although we may have killed it with last Saturday's 'bed in' tee hee

Giggle Pixie - Oh! Tell me what you would do! Tell me! :)

Turnbaby - They can get a bit warm. But I just use that as an excuse to crank up the AC! :)

Atta girl! I just bought one of those on ultimatebackstore.com and its been the investment of 2008. I love it so much, it helps my back and fatigue.

Annabelle - Oh, it helps Ty-man's back immensely. He has such a weak back and many pain issues. And they are lessened with the Tempur-Pedic.
