The Ty-man's Near-Demise

Investigating the Georgia Aquarium's Titanic Exhibit was... interesting.

The first night? Some of the patron's had had a bit too much wine with their dinner.

The second night? We had a full house of people truly interested in investigating the paranormal and we actually had some activity. Nothing to rival what TAPS found, but some interesting little somethings nonetheless (odd KII hits, shouldn't-have-been-there smells, etc.).

And my presentation went so very well that I was raring to do it a third night, if needed. But let's just say I don't sound half-bad with a microphone shoved in my face.

But what really got me going was the next morning. Here I was, subsisting on eight hours of sleep for 48 hours and I thought I'll watch the first 30 minutes of Ghost Hunters while Ty-man takes the kids to school. Just a quiet few minutes before the insanity begins. I turned on the TiVo... no Ghost Hunters.

What. The. Fuck.

It hadn't recorded. Why hadn't it recorded? I checked my TiVo To Do List the night before. Where was it?!? I re-checked the To Do List and found it was scheduled to record next Wednesday.

Rassle! Frassle! Frakking piece-of-shit TiVo! Gah! Must kill programmers! Cocksuckers! Rescheduled my show without my permission! Fuckers!

Well, no problem. Ty-man always records it on his DirecTV DVR. Let's just switch over there...

No Ghost Hunters.

Holy frakking crap. He watched it and deleted it thinking I would have it on my TiVo. And now I have to wait until next week. And I'm so very tired. And all I wanted to do was watch 30 minutes of my favorite TV show before I had to play the part of Exhausted, Grumpy Mom.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Oh, wait. What about On Demand? We can download shows On Demand from Ty's DVR. Oh! Oh! Salvation! Is it there? Searching, searching.

SUCCESS! Ghost Hunters Titanic Terror! Begin downloading! Woo hoo! So, I went downstairs to tell Ty-man of my debacle and that all is well and I'll be OK in a couple of hours after it downloads and I'll get my Jason/Grant fix and see my peeps Joe and Dianna on TV.

And suddenly he looked sheepish. And I'm all like What's up?

Turns out Ty-man wanted to watch Ghost Hunters and Sean Hannity's coverage of the Atlanta Tea Party on Fox News. They were on at the same time. He can't record two shows. He deleted Ghost Hunters from my To Do List and recorded Hannity instead. Then watched it and Ghost Hunters. And deleted Ghost Hunters, forgetting that it wouldn't be on my TiVo.

And all I could think was You recorded Hannity, scourge of the 9PM airwaves, on my TiVo??? My TiVo will never be the same!!! You pre-empted Ghost Hunters for HIM?!?!? YOU MUST DIEEEEEEE!!!!!! And I thought about going Charlie X all over his ass and turning him into a pile of dust but then, where would the house payment come from?

And what saved him was that he was holding J-man. And the On Demand episode was downloading as I contemplated mayhem.

That close, people. He was that close. You don't fuck with the TiVo.

I'm just sayin'.

Ooh. Good thing for Ty there's on demand!
I think you can get episodes online too, although I *don't* think your husband will make that mistake again :)

He wanted to watch Hannity cover the Fox News sponsored teabagging? Sigh. Your husband . . .

Last night's ep was pretty cool - SciFi shows full episodes on their website, too, ya know.

The people who lead your group seemed really professional and much better than other times they've shown local paranormal investigators.

Haha!
I am so glad you aren't writing from a jail cell, although I'm not sure you would've been convicted for that. :)

no husband of the year award for Ty-man. I bet he's never been so thankful to have kids to hold.

No, that Tivo will never be the same.

You probably can guess what I think about Hannity, so in that sense I'm on your side.

I was just thinking about TV and the fact that I don't actually know what you're talking about - DVR,Tivo, On Demand. At home, we have rabbit ears on the TV and that's it. One of these days we'll join the 21st century.

*sigh* I don't have Tivo...yet.

Glad you allowed him to live though. I don't think they would give you free wifi and a laptop to maintain your blog from prison. Plus, the kids would kinda miss him.

Also, your husband watches Hannity, huh? For laughs or for real? Just wondering...

Seems like the TiVo Todo list would've listed that it had been manually deleted -- at least, I think mine does that in that situation.

Sometimes I think the TiVo needs logins so that the Todo list can also indicate *who* did the deleting. Well, and not letting other users delete your shows at all, of course. :-)

That is just WRONG!
