So many times, I try to rise above frustrating situations, to stay out of the fray. I look down my nose at the ridiculousness of it all and scorn those who are in the middle, battling it out. But through all of my I'm-so-above-this BS, I'm...
wishing
dreaming
wanting
to beat the shit out of somebody. I want to bloody noses and punch sneering faces. I wanna slap a mofo so hard that his ears ring.
My blood boils, my ire rises, and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up in protest of being held back and away from the fight.
I put on this facade of calm-cool-collected and yet, if you look closely, you'll see my jaw moving. And you'll realize that my teeth are grinding one another to dust, because it's taking every ounce of kinetic energy to quell the potential.
The potential for violence.

I'm the same way. The Effexor really helps, because I'm pretty sure I would be punching people left and right without it.
As for the teeth grinding, get a bite guard. My dentist keeps me well stocked in them-one for day and one for night. Yes I said one for wearing during the day when I am feeling the stress.
If I could just live on top of a mountain and fly in and out and not have to deal with other humans, I wouldn't need the Effexor and the bite guards. ;-)
Sometimes you just need to keep your pimp-hand strong. I say go for it and rattle some teeth.
*UGH. I can't subscribe to comments from my Blackberry. Lame.
I feel your pain, sister. I, too, try to stay out of the fray but secretly want to smack a bitch for being an idiot. (The really sad part? Both of the battles currently brewing in my world are NOT MINE. Man, is that pathetic or what? I seem to be looking for trouble.)
Seriously? I don't trust people that don't want to beat the shit out of *somebody*. We're human beings, you know, not that pointy eared dude from Star Trek. And even *he* got pissed off, sometimes. Oh, because he was part human. What were we talking about...
A good brisk walk helps. Sounds stupid, but it is impossible to stay mad. Believe me, I've tried it. My stubborn streak is a mile long, and after stomping around my neighborhood for a while, some of the ire does fade.
Hey. Depending on the circumstances - whacking the shit out of somebody might just be the best thing to do. Go with you gut. And make sure I am NO WHERE near the area, oaky?
I hear ya!
Yer like reading my mind, girl.
I'm the same way, but most would tell you it's the irish in me. We were pretty much born to fight. Fight poverty, oppression, and each other more often than not. Just blame your heritage and no one makes a big deal out of it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Find yourself a good kickboxing class.
OR
Wii Boxing - have your husband play the opponent and set up the Mii to look like the person you want to punch.
I've done both and they work pretty good at getting the frustration out...without the whole assault and battery thing. You know...cuz that would kinda suck for your kids.
I'm going to stay out of your way. Actually, I guess Australia is probably out of your reach. Phew.
Oh how I can relate. Especially with a bajillion visitors showing up at our house recently. Ugh.
Is your 'hood association acting up again?
