My Apologies

If I haven't called you.

If I haven't invited you for coffee.

If I forgot to tell you about the funny sign I saw the other day.

If I didn't read your post.

If I didn't invite you to dinner.

If we haven't spoken in two months.

If I don't remember your favorite color.

If I forget to show you a funny picture of the kids.

Don't take it personally. I had no idea, when lying there pregnant with the twins, that motherhood would take so much of me. I didn't realize that my brain would be occupied with kids, KIDS, KIDS! That I would barely have any room to remember to shower or eat or blink, much less keep up with the world outside our four walls. I'm not ignoring you on purpose. I'm just trying to survive motherhood.

My most humble apologies.

Yeah, me too. Except I've only got two of them. Kids, I mean.

You can always make it up to me by selling your kids and coming to dinner with me and Muskrat on Saturday!

Wait until they're a little older and it starts with the sleepovers and friends over and GAH.
I only have one kid, but my house is full of them all the freaking time. Of course, I'd rather have them here where I can watch them, than THERE... wherever that is...

Good to know that someone else lives my life, too. See ya in a few years. Oh, wait... then we'll have hit puberty. Make that see ya in a few decades.

I'll accept yours if you'll accept mine? XOXO

My excuse for EVERYTHING lately has been that "life got in the way". I'm trying to make more time... trying.
