A Boy and His Speeder Bike

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Ty-boy. He loved Star Wars like most little boys love "cowboys and Indians" or "playing doctor." You see, George Lucas was the man and Luke Skywalker was his hero. One day, Ty-boy asked his daddy for a landspeeder and daddy replied, "Give me ten good reasons why you need that landspeeder." Obviously, Ty-boy couldn't come up with ten good reasons and the landspeeder stayed on the store shelf.

Over the years, Ty-boy grew to become Ty-man and in 1995 a friend give him a landspeeder for Christmas. This caused the explosion of Star Wars toys that is Ty-man's basement office. Dioramas of Star Wars movie scenes (all six movies), Millenium Falcons bigger than the kitchen sink, AT-ATs attacking snow speeders, and on, and on, and on. Ty-man is living out that boyhood fantasy and thumbing his nose at giving any reason for owning all of these toys, except the one obvious reason that they give him joy (and he wants to fund George's retirement).

So, yesterday, at Disney MGM, Ty-man bowed his head for just a moment and worshiped at the feet of George, channeled The Force, and got his picture on a speeder bike. Awwwwwww.

Me? I just tried to survive the Hollywood Hotel Tower of Terror. Sheesh.

Where's the picture of him on the speeder?

And what's wrong with toys? You should see my Batman collection.

I live close to where that scene in the forest was filmed. Didn't live here at the time, but people said that there were drunk midgets (little people) everywhere.

It was so awesome to meet you and Ty-man today!

And OMG I realized when I got home I hadn't ever actually been to your blog. I suck. So bad.
