Nervous

Tomorrow is the 97th anniversary of the Titanic's sinking.

And tonight is the big first-class dinner/paranormal event at the Georgia Aquarium/Titanic exhibit. My ghost hunting group will be hosting the event and taking the patrons on a paranormal investigation of the exhibit.

And I? Will be in charge of the presentation, the slide show that explains to these lovely paranormal investigating virgins what ghost hunting is all about (See this? This is an EMF meter. Can you say EMF? Sure you can!). That means I'll be up in front of over 100 people. Speaking. Sweating. Wiping my upper lip. And crossing my legs so I don't pee myself because when I get nervous my bladder gets hinky.

I mean, I was a member of a Masonic youth group for nine years and membership required me to stand up in front of a bunch of people and do the public-speaking thing, on a regular basis, in a long gown. Yeah. And then I taught scuba diving for six years where I hand to stand (and float) in front of a bunch of people, on a regular basis, and talk about Boyle's Law and demonstrate how to flood and clear a scuba mask. So why am I nervous?

Because I'm just a big wuss, that's why.

But considering that I'm going to do said presentation at least three times tonight and twice tomorrow night (the event has been extended to a second night which means that with two nights in a row with no sleep, I should be hallucinating by Thursday) by the final presentation tomorrow night I will probably be doing this by rote. I'll be all Aw shucks, I'twerent nuthin.

But right now? Eleven hours away from me standing there like a deer in the headlights? My heart is pounding.

And I'm liking it.

By the way. I've always been quiet about the name of my paranormal investigation group. But, if you tune in tomorrow night (Wednesday, April 15) at 9PM to the Sci-Fi channel, you'll see Jason and Grant investigate the Georgia Aquarium's Titanic exhibit as well as the Gaither Plantation in Covington, Georgia, alongside the founders of my group. Tune in and check out Roswell Georgia Paranormal Investigations!

SO cool!!! I'm totally going to watch.

I love that heart pounding feeling, too. I usually get it just before doing something outside of my every day comfort zone. It feels realllllly good, doesn't it?! Wish I could bottle it and take a swig whenever I'm feeling low on energy.

Go get 'em. You'll do great :)

Hey I'm sure it went well. I'm one of those weird people who is more comfortable talking to a group than just one person. I picked the right line of work.
